Join our client at the European Space Operations Centre, where we're seeking a dynamic and driven Network Support Engineer to be part of their innovative international team. As a vital member of the Network Operations Centre (NOC), you'll play a key role in providing 1st and 2nd line technical support to ESA space missions and users, operating in a fast-paced and exciting environment. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting LAN and WAN operations, including ground stations and worldwide connectivity via MPLS and IPSec. Managing network and security services, such as firewalls, voice services, and Cisco AAA. Providing 2nd line support for all elements in the ESA Operational Network. Utilizing ITSM tools to respond to incidents and change requests, ensuring timely resolution within SLA targets. Collaborating with 1st and 3rd line support groups to swiftly resolve incidents and problems. Conducting equipment installations, preventative maintenance, and patching to ensure seamless connectivity. Maintaining accurate documentation and reports, including Knowledge and Configuration Databases. Supporting the engineering department with system implementation, handover, training, and documentation. As a successful candidate, you'll bring: Proven experience in multi-platform communications environments, with expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and firewalls. CISCO CCNA certification (CCNP is advantageous) and proficiency in LAN and Routing technologies. Familiarity with Firewall/IDS technologies, Cisco Enterprise Switches and Routers, and network management tools. Strong organizational, time management, and report writing skills, coupled with a dedication to service excellence. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. Analytical prowess and adept incident resolution capabilities. Knowledge of IT Service Management processes, particularly ITIL principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and a friendly, team-oriented demeanor.
