Our development team of 7 software developers and deep learning experts brings central deep learning know-how, its implementation and tooling to the SICK product landscape. We also act as an interface to software product development for innovative 3D sensors and help bring the latest AI technologies to the market.
YOUR TASKS:
* Develop and integrate AI-based algorithms for environmental perception and sensor data fusion to prevent collisions in mobile machines and robots
* Process 2D and 3D data in real time from stereo cameras, time-of-flight, and LiDAR sensors
* Train and benchmark deep learning models while evaluating various algorithms and architectures
* Integrate solutions into embedded sensor systems and deploy them on AI accelerator hardware
* Identify relevant scientific trends and implement them in practical applications
* Support specialist departments with your expertise in the design process and algorithm integration
* Act as a key contact for customers as well as research and development partners
* Contribute to projects in the field of in-house tooling
YOUR PROFILE:
* University degree in computer science, mathematics, or a comparable qualification, preferably with a PhD
* Initial professional experience in a similar role
* Strong expertise in modern deep learning and machine learning methods for environmental perception (segmentation, object detection, tracking)
* Good knowledge of C++ and/or Python as well as Docker
* Hands-on experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow 2
* Ideally, knowledge in safety, autonomous driving, or mobile robot navigation
* Experience with embedded/on-device accelerator hardware is a plus
* Good English skills
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Systematic and structured working approach
