Sales Manager Field Application Engineer
Your role and responsibilities
The Field Application Engineer markets complex, technical products and convinces customers with technical expertise and strong sales skills. The FAE offers practical and individual solutions for our customers and helps with the implementation of technical products and services. He works in close coordination with the account manager and customer. • Technical specialist with segment, application and product orientation. • Active consulting and support in the planning and compilation of ABB products and systems in the field of motor starting & Safety, Motor protection, control and switching technology, Drive technology using soft start and frequency inverter, Machine safety, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and Performance Level (PL). • Assistance and on-demand training of customers in the specialist area, in cooperation with PM, trainer and account manager. • Planning optimization, cross-selling and upselling activities for added value for the customer and ABB. • Conversion of competitive products and customer baskets using tools and knowledge to prepare offers. • Technical support for product launches and announcements in the region. • Market observation for specific solutions in the specialist area and corresponding support for the segments and PM areas in new and further developments.
Qualifications for the role
* Successful degree in electrical engineering, completed training as a technician or similar qualification
* Experience in the field of electrical engineering, experience in technical sales
* Knowledge of market structures and products in the industrial, mechanical engineering and OEM sectors
* Knowledge of switchgear and control engineering for systems according to TEC and UL/CSA
* Knowledge of SAP and SalesForce
* Willingness to travel and attend trade fairs
* Good knowledge of German, English
