Location/Division Specific Information
We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen, currently with about 500 employees, whose “high-end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the leading products globally in their respective markets.
A Day in the Life:
1. Resolve and monitor technical problems of Thermo Fisher Scientific Sector Field Mass Spectrometers on a worldwide install base
2. Provide support to Service Engineers during installations, repairs, and maintenance
3. Collaborate closely with the Field Service Organization in various aspects
4. Support software updates globally
5. Train Field Service Engineers, including preparing training courses and materials, and conducting training sessions
6. Create, update, and distribute Factory Communication documents on the Factory Product Support website
7. Report problems from the field to relevant departments of the factory (Quality, R&D, Parts & Repair) to drive quality improvements and contribute to finding solutions and implementing them in the field
8. Actively participate in the NPI process and create corresponding Support documents for new instruments
Keys to Success:
Education
9. Professional background with a graduate-level qualification or equivalent vocational experience in Electronics, Science, and/or Physics, an electronic engineering degree is a clear advantage
Experience
10. Experience troubleshooting electronic systems is a clear advantage
11. Technical experience with Thermo Fisher Scientific Element ICP, Element GD, and/or DFS Magnetic Sector GC HR Mass Spectrometers is an advantage
12. Experience in providing trainings or workshops is an advantage
13. Customer-focused with a strong commercial understanding
14. Proactive and organized, with a keen interest in self-education and systematic work
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
15. Ability to quickly understand problems and work systematically towards solutions
16. Willingness to travel for onsite troubleshooting, training and installation support (up to 15% of time)
17. Good understanding and experience with Microsoft Office Applications
18. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
