UST is currently recruiting for a German speaking Desktop Support Engineer for a fixed term contract role who comes with a strong technical background to join our team.
The Deskside Engineer provides on-site IT support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of desktop environments, applications, and peripheral devices.
This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing installations, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Provide deskside support to end-users for hardware, software, and peripheral issues. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. Perform hardware upgrades and repairs as needed.
Software Management: Install, update, and troubleshoot software applications. Assist with software deployment and configuration.
User Assistance: Provide user training and support on IT-related issues. Assist with password resets, account unlocks, and other routine IT tasks.
Incident Management: Log and manage incidents in the IT service management system. Ensure timely resolution and follow-up with users.
Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including hardware and software inventory. Ensure accurate documentation of assets and configurations.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to resolve complex issues and implement IT projects. Escalate issues to higher-level support when necessary.
Network Support: Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues and network printer setup.
Security Compliance: Ensure that all IT equipment and software comply with company security policies and standards. Implement security patches and updates as required.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems. Knowledge of common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, email clients). Familiarity with basic networking concepts and hardware. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills.
