Job Description
For our international R&D team consisting of software, hardware and application engineers based in Munich, we are looking for a project engineer. Working as part of a highly skilled, agile Scrum team you will maintain and develop one of Brainlab’s core products, ExacTrac Dynamic, an in-room patient positioning and monitoring system for high-precision Radiotherapy treatments. This system works with a revolutionary new thermal-surface camera technology in tandem with X-Ray tracking. Thousands of patients around the world are positioned and monitored by the ExacTrac Dynamic system and its predecessors every day, allowing them to be treated effectively.
Based on the prioritization provided by the Product Owner, the Scrum teams take over the responsibility for developing new or improving existing features. This process involves thoroughly refining, implementing and documenting a feature, as well as verifying and validating it.
As an (Advanced) Project Engineer, your typical key responsibilities within the scrum team would include:
* Participating in the specification and design of the feature
* Creation of the technical and medical documentation (e.g. risk analysis)
* Defining and executing verification and validation activities including writing of automated tests
* Estimating the duration and costs of the feature
* Evaluating the usability of the feature with our customers and collaboration partners
In addition to these responsibilities, a project engineer also could take care of:
* Communication with other R&D departments (QM, QA, Usability etc.) and customers
* Performing verification and validation activities in hospitals around the world
* Management of small projects
* Continuous engineering
* Contribution to continuous improvement of system engineering tools and methods
Qualifications
* University degree in computer science, physics, engineering or a related discipline
* Analytical mindset and creativity to develop reliable solutions
* Strong motivation to adapt and enhance structures and processes
* Well-organized and clearly structured working style
* High documentation quality standards
* Fluent written and spoken English
* Eagerness to be part of an interdisciplinary team where your talent can grow
* Experience with project management tools and agile development concepts would be beneficial
* Technical experience with Polarion, Cypress (JavaScript) and/or Azure DevOps for work management are a plus
