Your tasks The new professor is expected to strengthen the profile of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management in the field of technological transformation of companies and to take over a leading role in shaping the interdisciplinary technology cluster. We seek candidates who are committed to excellence in research, teaching and knowledge transfer: Research: As a research-oriented university level business school, HHL seeks scholars who share our focus on managerially relevant and internationally recognized research. The candidate must have a proven track record of high-quality research focusing on the intersection of entrepreneurship, technological transformation and new technologies, e.g. applications of generative AI, the Metaverse, cybersecurity or other relevant technological developments in a corporate context. Teaching: HHL has a reputation for outstanding teaching and has a very international student body at a graduate level. The candidate should show strong evidence of teaching excellence in the field of technological developments, business development and transformation management. Teaching approaches should combine multiple methods for face-to-face, digital and hybrid teaching, and follow a research-induced teaching style. As HHL teaches exclusively in English, fluency in English is required. Experience in teaching in a business school context and non-academic work experience are assets. Knowledge Transfer: HHL aims to matter not only in the scientific community but to companies and society at large. The candidate has a track record in knowledge transfer activities (e.g., third-party funded projects, managerial publications, company cooperations, media coverage) and is willing to promote technological transformation in companies, e.g. through executive education offerings or practical projects with students. Your profile We particularly value candidates - who combine a technological background (e.g. computer science, business informatics) and management expertise with a proven track record of applying their cross-disciplinary skills to achieve business objectives - who have a strong commitment to working across disciplinary boundaries willing to foster connections across different management disciplines and research topics Applicants should have passed a positive evaluation either as junior/assistant professor via “Habilitation” or equivalent qualifications, a proof of suitability for university teaching (Master & Doctoral level) and engage in international academic networks.
