For an innovative company based in the Munich area and at the forefront of European space technology, we are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) to support the development and manufacturing of deployable space hardware. The company is internationally recognized for its pioneering work on deployable antenna reflector technologies and plays a key role in ambitious space missions such as the Copernicus Earth Observation program. If you are enthusiastic about contributing to breakthrough solutions in a collaborative, multicultural team, this could be your ideal next step.
The Position
As a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the end-to-end design process of advanced mechanical systems for space applications. You will propose innovative solutions to enhance current designs, create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, and support technical decision-making in all phases of the product lifecycle. You will prepare documentation, take part in design reviews, collaborate closely with the Analysis and MAIT teams, and contribute to procurement and manufacturing coordination. Your role will be central to ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet tight project timelines.
Your Benefits
You will join a dynamic and forward-thinking environment where innovation and collaboration are key. The company offers flexible working hours, modern office space with excellent infrastructure and public transport access, and an informal dress code. You will work in a flat hierarchy alongside an open-minded team of international experts and benefit from individual development opportunities, challenging projects, and direct contributions to current and future space missions.
Your Qualifications
You hold a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and have at least five years of professional experience in a design engineering role, ideally within the European space or aerospace sector. You are proficient in SolidWorks, have hands-on experience in the design of metallic and CFRP components, and understand ECSS standards. Experience with deployable structures or space mechanisms is highly desirable. You are fluent in English, and German skills are an advantage.
