Process Engineer - Cable Manufacturing Date: Jan 24, 2025 Location: Reynosa, TAM, MX, 88700 Company: Corning Job Title: Process Engineer - Cable Manufacturing Purpose of the Position: The Process Engineer will be responsible for the development, improvement, and implementation of processes in our optical cable manufacturing facility. They will be tasked with combining knowledge in plastic processing and extrusion, data analysis, statistics, and project management to ensure consistent, efficient and capable operation. Major Responsibilities and Tasks of the Position: Development and optimization of manufacturing processes in relation to plastic processing and extrusion Performing data analysis and applying statistical methods to identify areas for improvement Project management for process improvements and new product introductions Troubleshooting and resolving production issues related to equipment, processes, and materials Training of manufacturing personnel on new or revised manufacturing process procedures Documentation of procedures, process parameters, and process improvements Internal Customers: Production team Quality team Education or Majors Recommended: Bachelor?s degree in engineering Chemical Plastics Data Engineering Mechatronics Trainings or knowledge in plastic transformation and extrusion processes is preffered Work Experience: Experience in plastic processing and extrusion in a manufacturing environment Proven ability to use data analysis and statistics to drive process improvements Experience in project management Competencies: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a team-oriented environment Good project management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Desired Hard Skills: Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, desirable in Phyton) Knowledge of plastic processing and extrusion techniques Experience with CAD software Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies Familiarity with optical cable manufacturing processes and equipment Proficient in Project Management software and methodologies.
