Your role
Symrise is embarking on an exciting digital transformation journey. As part of our corporate strategy, we are building a cutting-edge, in-house Data & Analytics Platform designed to drive innovation and empower decision-making across the organization.
We are seeking a curious and driven Data & Analytics Engineer (m/f/d) to play a key role in developing this greenfield platform. This is your opportunity to make a real impact, working on projects at the intersection of technology and business, including Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Internet-of-Things, Robotic Process Automation, Low Code Platforms, Business Intelligence, and Cloud Web Applications.
In this hands-on, cross-functional role, you will:
1. Develop Innovative Data Solutions: Design, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines, data models, and data assets and products to power business-critical applications.
2. Integrate and Harmonize Data: Work with diverse source systems to create unified, high-quality datasets, leveraging and enhancing our existing data assets.
3. Shape Data Architecture: Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to design scalable and efficient data architectures.
4. Collaborate with Experts: Partner with the Digital Transformation & Analytics team, other data engineers, and business domain experts to translate business requirements into impactful solutions.
5. Enable Users: Provide training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and documentation to empower business users and ensure smooth platform adoption.
6. Ensure Quality: Participate in agile planning, retrospectives, and delivery events, and adhere to best practices like automated testing and version control.
7. Resolve Issues: Support technical troubleshooting and incident resolution to maintain seamless operations.
About you
8. Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field
9. Advanced knowledge of programming languages for Databricks on Azure, including Python, PySpark, and Pandas/Polars
10. Experience designing and optimizing ETL pipelines for complex datasets
11. Solid understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and performance optimization; prior exposure to advanced analytics and machine learning tools is a plus
12. Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, or AWS (Azure preferred)
13. Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
14. Experience with APIs and defining data access for various applications is advantageous
15. Fluency in English, both written and verbal
