Site Engineer (M/F/D) – Baden-Württemberg Area, Germany About the Role: This role will provide ongoing engineering support to R&D Site Operations, focusing on facilities services and capital project program management. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of engineering services, maintaining infrastructure, managing risk programs, and optimizing sustainability efforts at the site. You will collaborate closely with site operations teams and service partners to ensure the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Identify, initiate, and manage engineering-related capital projects, ensuring compliance with statutory standards and site infrastructure strategy. Support the governance of engineering activities onsite, using GEMBA to monitor, review, and manage data such as maintenance adherence, engineering disruption, and mean time to failure. Lead engineering standards gap assessments and manage risk mitigation plans to ensure compliance with engineering assessments and service delivery standards. Champion site initiatives like Operational Occurrence Reporting, Engineering Change Control, Energy Optimisation, and EHS improvement programs. Support site audits and manage improvement programs generated from audit findings, CAPA, EHS alerts, sustainability objectives, and preventable disruptions. Drive the implementation of energy-saving projects and operational improvements to enhance sustainability and efficiency. Act as Technical Authority when deemed competent and as deputy to the Site Technical Authority, ensuring ethics and compliance standards are maintained. Oversee vendor management and service partner performance, ensuring compliance with engineering and EHS standards. Lead mid to large-scale engineering and capital projects, ensuring adherence to GSK design guidelines and design principles. Work with local and regional engineering teams to establish robust maintenance regimes and ensure compliance with Good Engineering Practices and local statutory standards. Serve as the point of escalation for site stakeholders and manage site risks, ensuring appropriate escalation when necessary. Participate in the site crisis team on a rotational basis. Deputize for the Site Operations Manager during periods of absence, managing stakeholders and representing the site at forums as needed. Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience as an engineer in facility operations or technical support services for R&D or pharmaceutical facilities. Strong knowledge of the R&D process and GxP requirements. Experience with facilities engineering and operations, including infrastructure management (boilers, chillers, HVAC, cooling towers). Solid experience in Facilities Management or a related engineering or technical discipline. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and German (minimum C1 level). A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification. Demonstrated capability to manage external service partners effectively. Must be eligible to work in Germany.
