What You Will Do As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will assume a leadership role in the development and optimization of our groundbreaking blockchain platform, ensuring ease of use, scalability and quality. Collaborating closely with the development teams, product, and design, you will ensure the technical architecture meets the requirements for feature development. This role entails setting strategic goals for our long-term architecture, prototyping & documenting solutions and assisting the engineering teams in implementing strategic solutions. This can be facilitated by sharing architectural knowledge and providing the necessary tools for improving developer experience. Take ownership of & oversee our platform service infrastructure. Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering teams to assist them in implementing our strategic technical vision. Provide tools & frameworks to standardize our developer experience for consistency & improved DX. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers, to drive our technical architecture forward and make sure it is aligned with our product vision. Lead strategic discussions related to our technology stack and architecture in collaboration with the Director of Engineering. Develop a migration plan for evolving our current platform into an end state architecture. Identify areas for improvement and innovation, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our backend development. Share knowledge through documentation, presentations and training sessions, promoting continuous learning and skill development within the team. What We Look For Proficiency in Spring Boot and Kotlin for writing production-ready, future-ready code. Go is also nice to have. Strong understanding of distributed, event-driven, micro-service architecture and REST API design. In particular, experience with Kafka. Experience deploying to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including test-driven development, unit testing, integration testing, code reviews and design documentation. Prior experience working in a cross-functional environment with Product Managers and Designers. Technical background in building and optimizing backend web applications and reactive programming knowledge is a plus Our Hiring Process The first step will be a screening call with our Talent Acquisition Manager and/or one of our engineers. From there, we’ll schedule a functional interview with two of our engineers (from a mix of disciplines, depending on the role you’re applying for), during which we will discuss some of the example code you provide. The functional interview will be followed up with a cross-functional interview with a product designer and product manager. The final round is a short interview with our Director of Engineering.
