The Role:
As a Process Safety Engineer you will be responsible for conducting risk analyses, identifying hazards, and developing appropriate safety measures to protect our processes and employees. You will work with specialized software tools to assess risks efficiently, communicate your findings to site management, and assist with the implementation of safety measures at various sites. Covering sites in Germany and Switzerland, the role requires regular travel betwwen the two countries. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying safety gaps and ensuring continuous improvement of process safety standards.
How You Will Make an Impact:
* Conducting Risk Analyses: Plan and carry out Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Layer of Protection Analyses (LOPAs) to identify risks in our processes and develop appropriate safety measures.
* Using Analysis Software: Utilize specialized software (e.g., Sphera Advanced Risk Assessment, ARA) to perform risk analyses efficiently and accurately.
* Reporting and Communication: Document the results of analyses, discuss them with site managers, and ensure that all critical information is correctly recorded.
* Identifying Safety Gaps: Identify when critical safety information is missing and support sites in obtaining this information.
* Developing Improvement Measures: Propose concrete solutions to close safety gaps and monitor their implementation.
* Supporting Sites: Assist site teams with the practical implementation of safety measures and recommendations.
* Prioritizing Safety Measures: Work with site management to ensure that safety measures are prioritized effectively and implemented in a cost-efficient manner.
* Training and Consulting: Provide process safety training and advise our sites and partner companies on safety-related topics.
Creating Extraordinary Starts With:
* A successfully completed degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent vocational training.
* Several years of professional experience in the chemical industry.
* One or more yeas of PHA and LOPA facilitation experience.
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., COMAH) and industry standards (e.g., NFPA, API, ASME, IEC).
* A dynamic, hands-on mentality.
* Reliability, teamwork skills, and a high sense of responsibility.
* Good command of both German and English languages.
