We are looking for a Field Service Engineer - ESS (all genders) to provide technical support, installation and troubleshooting of our high and low voltage energy storage products across Europe. In this role, you will work closely with customers to ensure the smooth operation of the products, diagnose technical issues and liaise with internal teams to achieve continuous improvements. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for solving problems in the energy storage industry, we want to hear from you Responsibilities: Provide consulting and technical support for European customers on A123 Systems' full range of energy storage solutions. Install and commission products at customer sites. Deliver both remote (phone/email) and on-site troubleshooting and technical support. Conduct failure analysis and diagnostics following IATF and VDA standards. Document and report identified failures and service activities. Oversee and ensure compliance with 5S standards in the analytical laboratory. Coordinate field activities, service visits, and support schedules. Act as a liaison between customers and internal departments (engineering, warranty, product improvement). Participate in internal and external technical training programs. Education & Experience: Completed training in a technical field (e.g., electrical engineering, mechatronics, or similar). Minimum 3 years of direct experience in installation, service, and troubleshooting of Industrial/Commercial Energy Storage Systems (ESS). Hands-on experience with solar, inverter, and battery systems for Residential ESS installations and service. High Voltage Technician Level 2 training is a plus Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong problem-solving and customer service skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively. Proven ability to work independently with a can-do attitude, high reliability, and flexibility. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German Proactive and creative thinker who takes ownership of tasks. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving policies.
