VIAVI employees are passionate about supporting customer success and we welcome people who bring their best every day to the company - to question, to collaborate and to push for solutions that will delight our customers.\n\nSolutions Engineer\n\nThe Solution Engineer will be responsible for supporting and enabling sales on VIAVI Fiber Optic Production and Lab Test (FOPLT) portfolio in EMEA driving the EMEA Sales plan.
The Solution Engineer will work closely with the Lab & Production Sales team and with selected Channel Partners and she/he will take responsibility for technical demonstrations and presentations in front of customers and in joining selected partner/VIAVI events (technical seminars, webinars, roadshows, and tradeshows). The individual will have to transfer product and related technology knowledge to the dedicated Sales team and to the Channel Partners. In conjunction with Sales, this person will be accountable for the bookings number of the related product portfolio in the whole EMEA region.
The Solution Engineer is responsible for the introduction, implementation, and follow-up of the FOPLT portfolio in all of EMEA and is expected to be proactive in case of deviation. The Solution Engineer is expected to drive issues to successful resolution within the wider «EMEA Solutions Engineer Team», directly with Sales and with the FOPLT Business Unit. This role can be based at one of our main EMEA office locations or in a home office in one of the following regions: the UK, France Germany or Italy.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities:\n\nDeliver technical and application support to our customers across EMEA for our FOPLT portfolio (Hands-on on product).\n\nA strong understanding of optical testing in both a production and laboratory environment.
The FOPLT products are used across the ecosystem, from connector manufacturing to 800G and beyond. A background in one or more of these areas would be advantageous.\n\nDeliver product and technology presentations at targeted local roadshows/technical seminars/webinars.\n\nSelf-motivated in penetrating opportunities and accounts for sales enablement.\n\nDeliver awareness of test and reporting methods and procedures to our customer base.\n\nLiaise with customers on instrument trials or method and procedure implementation.\n\nHelp discover ecosystem trends and activities as well as optimize product positioning to capture sales.\n\nProvide regular customer feedback to the Business Unit (Product Line Managers/R&D) in order to increase innovation and product market fit.\n\nShare experiences and best practices across the EMEA and Global Solutions Engineer team members.\n\nTransfer basics of product and technologies knowledge to Sales/Channel Partners during specific and regular training sessions.\n\nMeasurement of progress & gaps and defining recovery actions when needed.\n\nAs part of the technical pre-sales team, the Solution Engineer is accountable for driving sales growth in the region for the FOPLT portfolio.\n\nTravel required: up to 50% - all over EMEA.\nPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:\n\nPhysics/optical science/science/electronic engineering/ diploma with some post-graduate telecom expertise.\nA strong understanding of optics equipment testing in a production and/or laboratory environment.\n\nUnderstanding and knowledge of test automation design and software - experience with Python, LabView seen as advantage.\n\nThe FOPLT products are used across the ecosystem, from connector manufacturing to 800G and beyond. A background in one or more of these areas would be advantageous.\n\nExperience in providing pre-sales and/or product support (solutions presentations, training, demos, Proof of Concepts) considered as advantage.\n\nFluent communication and presentation skills in English, other language skills considered as advantage.\n\nThis is what VIAVI Solution Engineers are called to do on a daily basis.
