As an Engineering Manager, you will manage 5-10 skilled and creative Platform Engineers, currently divided into two teams. The mission of SRE & Security is to ensure that our products and underlying workloads meet the production and operational excellence that our customers expect. You will be a hands-on leader who grows high-performing teams & individuals, ensures goal attainment, and aligns technical excellence with business goals. You’ll work closely with your teams to make Platform-as-a-product decisions, prioritize work, ship features, and promote an engineering culture of knowledge sharing and mentorship. You’ll drive company-wide initiatives like our ongoing Production Excellence initiative, while also jumping in to help solve problems or handle escalations. Your tasks: Team Leadership and Development: Manage 1-2 teams of engineers, providing leadership, mentorship, salary & performance reviews, and support their success and professional growth. Technical Vision and Strategy: Partner closely with engineering leadership to shape the engineering culture and align engineering strategies with broader business goals (including VPs, Heads of, Architecture, Security Officer). Company-wide tech excellence: Drive and promote cross-company tech initiatives, overseeing their entire lifecycle together with your teams. In SRE and Security a lot of focus topics include operational excellence, IT processes (e.g. incident management), offensive and defensive security. Your experience: Proven track record of hiring & managing teams that have shipped and operated highly available, distributed systems. Multiple years of hands-on experience in platform / infrastructure engineering. Experience with product discovery methodologies for (internal) customers. Ability to thrive in a fast-changing, high-paced environment. Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication in English, German is an advantage.
