Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Essen, Germany. As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead complex geotechnical projects, provide technical expertise, and mentor junior team members.
* Conduct and oversee geotechnical investigations, soil testing, and site characterizations
* Prepare comprehensive subsoil reports, including stability analyses and soil improvement recommendations
* Develop innovative solutions for complex geotechnical challenges in various projects
* Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental specialists and structural engineers
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
* Ensure compliance with federal and state environmental legislation in all project phases
* Utilize advanced geotechnical software to perform analyses and create detailed reports
* Participate in business development activities and client meetings to expand our service offerings
* Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in geotechnical engineering
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field
* Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on investigations, subsoil reports, and soil improvements
* Proven expertise in contaminated site exploration, remediation planning, and execution (Phase I, II, OU, DU, etc.)
* In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation at federal and state levels
* Proficiency in geotechnical software and modeling tools
* Strong understanding of organic and inorganic pollutants' spread and decomposition behavior
* Fluency in English and German (both written and verbal)
* Demonstrated experience in project management and team leadership
* Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and clients
* Familiarity with DoD projects and requirements (preferred)
* Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings
