Senior Data Platform Engineer (w/d/m) - lexoffice
Feel like brightening up the days of around 300,000+ small and micro businesses in Germany? We at lexoffice are more than proud to help with the automation and digitalization of business processes and to have our customers' backs with a data-driven product.
As an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer with several years of professional experience, you will form the bridge between our enablement and feature teams. You act as a solution-oriented communicator and idea generator. Together with your teammates, you will find ways to further develop the data infrastructure at scale and at the same time drive real-time interaction with our data ecosystem. This requires a structured and strategically far-sighted approach: You recognize patterns in the feature teams' questions, cluster them, provide input for the appropriate system design and thus drive automation in the product.
Our shared vision: proactively nurtured feedback culture to improve data-driven decision-making.
We love in-person catch-ups, so we'll meet up at our Freiburg im Breisgau office whenever needed. Otherwise, you can work flexibly from home .
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WITH US:
1. You support initiatives to network previously isolated data areas and implement the development and expansion of a scalable data infrastructure.
2. You will develop concepts for the real-time storage and processing of customer data in the data infrastructure.
3. You will set up ETL routes for the collection, storage, maintenance, processing, enrichment and transfer of data.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WITH YOU:
4. You are familiar with cloud environments (AWS, Google, Azure) and common data engineering tools (e.g. for orchestrating data pipelines via ETL).
5. Your deep understanding of SQL, Python and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation) will help you to give your teammates constructive feedback and strengthen their development.
6. Practical experience with big data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Airflow) is a big plus. Ideally, you are also familiar with event-based data storage and have already applied this concept (e.g. Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis or similar).
7. You can speak German and English fluently. The working language in the team is English, but knowledge of German is required to build the bridge to the surrounding teams.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU:
8. Of course, we offer the classics: a wide range of employee benefits, from various events, sports and health offers to the opportunity to finance your bike via a job bike.
9. The opportunity to really get to know your future colleagues. Because we practice team recruiting: we look forward to getting to know you. Bartosz and Molly are your future team colleagues. We are united by the common goal of providing the best possible data infrastructure for lexoffice. This makes it possible to better understand the customer, make better decisions and build a better product. Urs, Andreas, Ralf, Carsten and Marvin are your contacts from the adjacent organization. As DevOps Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Chief Product Owner and Process Facilitator, we share many challenges. From living the product vision, identifying customer needs to a suitable structural framework. Together we can meet these challenges.
