The Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is a central organization providing global support to all sites, all business units to maximize the availability of equipment, properly apply preventative and predictive maintenance (reducing chances of unplanned downtime). Weu2019re seeking an experienced System Development Engineer who can operate and design systems on a massive scale, and to gain top-notch experience in cloud computing. You'll become a master at Builder Tool platform diagnosis, response, measurement, and automation. You will design and build the operational scalability that sustains the platform's insane growth. Key job responsibilities - Investigating and developing new ways to improve operations and defining new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for our customers - Investigating system variances about to affect major services worldwide and solving them proactively before impacting customers. - Coordinate and plan work activities for the site Control Systems Engineers to accomplish goals and objectives of North America Customer Fulfillment teams. - Work closely with FC Operations, Operations Engineering, FC Start up Team, AFT Software teams, ACES team, and Safety in supporting MHE systems optimization and project implementation. - Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including programmable logic controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems. - Act as first level escalation support for the site Control Systems Engineers during and after business hours, troubleshooting locally and remotely and repair all hardware or controls software systems within the building. - Perform, utilize, and provide analysis to assess material handling system performance. - Partner with Operations leadership, equipment vendors and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations. Act as the technical consultant for capital projects inside the building. About the team DST combines the expertise from talented program, product managers, engineers, and scientists to create programs and products that support such programs to drive cost optimization, and prevent events (e.g., unplanned downtime) that negatively impact customer experience. Basic Qualifications - Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems) - Experience (non-internship) in professional software development - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems - Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby Preferred Qualifications - Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java - Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
