Principal Systems Engineer - Automotive OEM
We are looking for a skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our Automotive OEM team in Munich (Garching).
Your Tasks
* Manage product research and development initiatives, anticipating technological trends to drive innovation and roadmaps.
* Investigate emerging technologies and develop new designs or techniques that could be regarded as significant advances in the technical community.
* Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams in different stages of multiple customer programs.
* Drive system architecture and technical concepts based on internal and external requirements.
* Offer direction and influence to engineering management for long-range product development objectives.
* Determine options and facilitate decision making on technical challenges.
* Uncover and resolve problems associated with the development and implementation of existing products and programs.
* Effectively represent Garmin in external meetings with customers and suppliers.
Your Profile
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Software Engineering or related field and multiple years of relevant experience.
* Demonstrated proficiency in research and development of leading-edge technology in the automotive industry, preferably in the infotainment domain.
* Excellent understanding of hardware and software development and capable of providing technical guidance for cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Multiple years of experience in offering direction and influence to engineering management on different organizational levels.
* Very good understanding of industrialization processes and related factory collaborations.
* Strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Unique blend of technical, business, and project skills that enables vision and ownership of a given technology or system.
* Demonstrated proficiency in the development of ADAS and automated driving systems.
