About the Role We build software for critical infrastructure, so quality is a 1 concern This requires dedicated and self-driven engineers, who are proficient both with developing and test automation of IoT and web-tech software, who constantly improve the various aspects of product quality. This ranges from management of known defects, interfacing with various B2B customers for influx and root-cause-analysis from in-field issues to test automation for the development lifecycle, soft/hardware emulation, and automation to enable automated tests down to refactoring software to improve monitoring and testability Your job will get you into interfacing with various internal teams, such as R&D, DevOps, Product and Operations, also external customer contact. It also allows you to go hands-on and create or improve the processes and tools we and our customers use. It can get very hands-on and technical. You will acquire, sharpen, and improve your skillsets daily and have a direct impact on the perceived quality of our products What you can expect We work in a hybrid setup (3/2) in the east part of Munich with a highly skilled international team in a very results-driven, pragmatic atmosphere while aiming to produce the highest quality You will work with new bleeding-edge technology and also battle-tested robust existing software Your day-to-day will include assessing and keeping an overview of defects and tech-dept and to pragmatically reduce both, your work has a direct impact on productivity and customer-perceived quality. Our work matters. We see our mission to make electric mobility a ground pillar of both new, decarbonized mobility as well a key element for the energy transition, with bidi charging solving challenges for smart grids to enable a higher usage of renewables. About You You are a problem-solver, finding ways off the beaten path. You master balancing high innovation speed with rock-solid quality. You master several programming languages, the most common ones we use are C++, Go, Typescript and Rust You know and are proficient both in SW development and as well in tooling for achieving high software quality, such as code quality analysis, test case generation, test automation You can work with IoT systems, are familiar with fieldbus protocols like CAN, Modbus, serial interfaces and GPIOs Automation is in your blood, you would rather write a script than doing the same thing more than twice Interesting skills: - Experience ideally both in Web-Tech / APIs (cloud/backend) and IoT (embedded linux or microcontroller) / Cyber-physical systems (emulation/test automation in the loop) - Experience in both Test/QA and SW development - Ableness & Interest to interface with customers (technical level, B2B) to resharpen requirements and suggest test criteria - Teamplay in a cross-cutting team Your day at EcoG Overall responsibility is the SW quality of the products and solutions You are closely in touch with all software teams and get to work on a wide range of modern SW technologies You design, create and multiply the usage of tools and automation that ensure top-notch quality even at high innovation speed Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address challenges Identify and analyze root causes of issues, implement improvements for monitoring and debugging, and support the teams in developing resolution strategies Develop a secure and high-quality release management process Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions to improve the customer experience and ensure quality assurance and testing of all releases Support in Automation of issue reporting process and classification system, from simple logfile pre-analysis to AI-based error classification Focus on systems for prototyping and software for production readiness Bring up innovative ways of ensuring quality for IoT systems like (partial) system emulation and unit-in-the-loop testing Why us?
