What awaits you at Mynaric
Role Overview:
As a Hardware Design Engineer in the Radiation Team, you will assist with setting up and running tests on electronic components used in our optical communications terminal, helping us make sure everything works well even in the extreme conditions of space. You'll have the chance to advance your understanding of space technology, test hardware, and get hands-on experience with automation and programming. You’ll also make sure everything is built to meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Radiation Testing of Electronics: Work alongside radiation experts, senior electronic engineers, software developers and other team members to get familiar with the full detail of our cutting edge electronic designs for satellites. Use your knowledge to:
* Prepare for radiation test campaigns. Develop test strategies, methodology, setups and scripts to test components and subsystems under realistic operational conditions while they are exposed to radiation.

Test Board Design: Design radiation test boards across a wide range of cutting edge electronics for radiation testing. Additionally, design support electronics that will assist in providing stimulus and in collecting measurements.
Automation Software:
* Python or LabView to automate bench instruments via SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) to control hardware and gather data.
* C programming for control of microcontroller development boards for test inputs and data collection.
Data Collection & Analysis: Further develop current methodologies for clear test data collection aiding easy analysis of the results.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all work follows IPC (Institute for Printed Circuits) standards and ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) guidelines.
Logistics: In collaboration with our current team manage the test campaign logistics, including final verification of setups, booking radiation facilities, travel and shipping of equipment.
Learning & Growth: Take part in training and development to build your skills and knowledge in radiation hardness and assurance.
Travel: Prepared to travel several times a year to facilities throughout Europe and the US.
