Summary For the “AeroSpace Development” division, we are looking for a “Chief Engineer Airborne (f/m/d)” with sound experience in device development for airborne applications at the Oberkochen site as soon as possible. We develop aviation equipment and electro-optical components that are used for self-protection or reconnaissance. The Chief Engineer has the development responsibility in the project and is responsible for the development of systems that are acceptably safe and comply with regulations, as well as for providing the relevant evidence. The chief engineer assumes technical management, coordinates with the technical project manager and reports to the higher-level project manager. Your Tasks Responsibility for technical feasibility, technological maturity, product / system specification, architecture and design Responsibility for validation of requirements, system integration, verification and qualification Determination of the development strategy, taking into account the project scope, system complexity, technological maturity, schedule, target costs and available resources. Responsibility for system integrity (safety, security, environmental compatibility) Work closely with the development project manager and the system architect reporting to him/her to deliver the right quality on time and at an affordable cost and present technical trade-offs Coordinate with customers on technical issues Identify and assess technical risks and opportunities and plan customization proposals Willingness to travel occasionally is required.
