Hauptaufgaben
Performs GIS technician functions in combination with master planning duties not requiring professional engineering knowledge, involving the current status of and future development of US Garrison Stuttgart.
Prepares, revises and maintains on a current basis a variety of maps with GIS to include the Basic Information Maps and Future Development Maps for all USAG-Stuttgart installations to include all housing areas, Patch Barracks, Panzer Kaserne, Kelley Barracks, Robinson Barracks, training areas, and numerous other outlying facilities. Annually revises and brings up to date the Basic Information Maps showing the installation and surrounding region. Secures from the real property section, the Utilities and Buildings and Grounds Branches information and changes. Transfers information between GIS and CAD (MicroStation).
Prepares Master Plans which present in graphic, narrative and/or tabular forms the present and future composition of US Garrison Stuttgart. Prepares alternative solutions including major construction to insure future availability and development of adequate resources, facilities and services taking into account the military mission, environmental factors and advancing technology as well as costs and time involved. Assists in coordinating action with US Forces liaison officials. Provides detailed graphic material for Real Property Planning Board Meetings.

E&T Level I, II and III: not creditable for this occupational series
E&T Level IVB and IVC: A Meister Diploma or Staatlich gepruefter Techniker in a trades or crafts field directly related to the position; PLUS 1 year of job related experience as defined below.
E&T Level IV A and D: not creditable for positions in this occupational series.
E&T Level V: Graduation from a University or equivalent, e.g., Fachhochschule, the Berufsakademie,or Technische Hochschule as Wirtschaftsingenieur, Ingenieur des Maschinenwesens, der Elekrotechnik oder des Bauwesens; no additional experience required.
Job Related Experience: Experience must be directly related to the area of specialization of the position and must be at a level of difficulty that compares to the grade of the position. Advanced journeyman trades and crafts experience that provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods and precedents is a prerequisite, e.g., experience as a technician, instructor, inspector, or mechanic that shows progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of the area of specialization of the position.
Office Automation skills required
Applicant must be in the possession of a valid driver's license class B and must be able to obtain/maintain a military motor vehicle operator's license.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English and German Language Proficiency Level C1 required.
