Network Engineer Senior – TS/SCI required

HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
* Responsible for Installation, configuration, and support of an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system; maintains network hardware and software; monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability; may supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures; and will provide leadership/mentorship to junior & mid level network engineers.
* Oversees network control center; provides support to projects that involve networks; performs a full range of complex network designs encompassing multiple technologies within a single network; evaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network; plans new configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance; ensures that adequate and appropriate planning is provided for hardware and communications facilities to develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation and support of voice communications systems; and provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders.
* The overarching INFOSEC and COMSEC security requirements for the Agency network add to the complexity of these positions.
* Analyzes user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications
* Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
* Analyzes network requirements and capacity and leads design and development activities
* Provides technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology
* Incorporates new network plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
* Develops network architecture and network design documentation
* Guides network development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of network engineering management plans and network integration and test plans
* Designs and performs integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks
* Provides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems
* Manages the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes
* Interacts with the Government regarding Network Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
* Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Network Engineering area of responsibility
* Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
* Education Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience
* Required Skillset:
* Mitigate risks, controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated projects
o Review and/or approve Network engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet Network needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete
o Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating Network integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces
o Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository
* Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI
* Required Certification(s):
o DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
o IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent
o Required Computing Environment Certification: minimum of CCNA to start and CCNP within 180 days of your start date. Of course if you have CCNP is preferred to have individual that has this on day one
* Location: On Customer Site
* Additional:
o Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
o Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity
o Travel may be required to support the mission

The likely salary range for this position is $122,366 - $49,134. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
