Job Description:
Senior Account Engineer - Chemical Industry Specialist
80% to 90% workload dedicated to Account Engineering. Includes a percentage (20 to 10%) of field/Project/Consulting workload per year. Full-time (100%) AE dedication is also possible.
This Position’s requirement:
1. Solid experience in Loss Prevention Engineering for Chemical Risks.
2. Former experience in account engineering (Loss Prevention) for clients of the chemical and similar industries.
3. Knowledge of PSM.
4. Knowledge of Dust Explosion hazards.
5. Located in Germany or nearby and dominion of English and German Languages.
6. Willing to travel as required to meet internal/external clients.
Other desirable skills (not limiting):
Experience desirable (field and/or account management) in industries such as (either OR or AND): Metalworking/heavy industry, Pulp and paper, Power Generation, Mining, Food/Beverage and grains.
Soft Skills:
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with internal/external clients.
2. Client (internal and external) satisfaction driven.
Primary Objectives:
1. The Account Engineer’s objective is to ensure client expectations are being met and to identify and communicate all potential account growth opportunities to the Account Manager.
2. Client satisfaction and retention.
3. Timely delivery of full program with high quality.
4. Assurance of an optimal balance between client satisfaction and account profitability.
5. Account Growth: Promoting expansion of program and additional service sales when opportunities are identified.
6. To be a trusted advisor to the client.
Responsibilities/Requirements:
1. Maintain client relationships at optimal level.
2. Keep familiar with the account and add value.
3. If required, assemble and lead an Account Team.
4. Develop and Keep Up to Date Account Servicing Instructions and Field Engineering templates.
5. Quality Control and ensuring technical accuracy of products.
6. Monitor Account Summary Reports (ASRs).
7. Use GRC Connect Database.
8. Support/handle Client Presentations as required.
9. Prepare stewardship/market reports/presentations.
Project and consulting support:
1. Oversee preparation of documents needed to set up new and renewing business.
2. Track time and expenses.
3. Delegate efficiently to support staff.
Functional Requirements:
1. As Received review reports, Fire Data Spreadsheets, and other documents and provide feedback as appropriate.
2. Address Advisory Impairments as they are reported and update the Impairment Database.
3. Respond to client inquiries.
4. Weekly Review workloads, projects, report status and unassigned work.
5. Address outstanding Advisory Impairments and update the Impairment Database.
6. Monthly Dashboard report for each account to the Service Leader and Engineering Manager.
7. Quarterly Review database for integrity.
8. Account Activity Summary Report for each account to the Service Leader.
9. Review GRIDS to check for errors and time/expense deviations.
10. Time & Expense Report for each account to the Service Leader.
Qualifications:
1. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
2. Ability to write clear and concise instructions.
3. Ability to instruct and delegate to support staff.
4. Recognized technical expertise.
Education:
Four Year (or more) College Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.
