Task Responsibilities:
* Manage, secure, and optimize database solutions, ensuring their availability, performance, and compliance with security standards.
* Plan, implement, and configure data platform resources, including database authentication, authorization, and automation of tasks using Azure DevOps orchestration.
* Monitor and optimize database resources and query performance, while also planning and configuring high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) environments.
* Perform backup and restore operations, apply patches and updates for PaaS and IaaS deployments, and recommend appropriate database types, offerings, data models, table partitioning, and sharding solutions.
* Maintain the IT ticketing system and knowledge base, staying up to date with infrastructure technology standards.
* Collaborate with support, technology, project teams, and IT management to improve IT services, documenting tasks in Azure DevOps and ServiceNow.
* Coordinate with IT and business application owners to upgrade database versions, enhance cloud-based database solutions, and monitor backups and performance.
* Prepare and execute backup and recovery jobs in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders, ensuring databases align with IT infrastructure and business application requirements.
* Provide comprehensive database support in partnership with various teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and other professionals, managing and optimizing databases while adhering to least privileged access and “zero trust” principles.
* Participate in the design and implementation of new application releases, focusing on database integration and optimization, and serve as a database expert for new information systems.
* Minimize operational costs of database resources while maintaining required performance levels, and maintain high security standards targeting compliance with NIS 2 and ISO 270001 standards.
* Provide 24/7 support for business-critical systems by participating in the on-call escalation team on a rotational basis.
Essential Requirements For The Position:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Proven work experience in IT support services management or a similar role.
* Proven experience with Oracle and/or SQL.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative.
* Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
* Ability to design and optimize data management solutions for various applications.
Working Conditions:
* Permanent contract.
* Full-time position based in our HQ in Luxembourg.
* Occasional travel required.
* The position holder might have to be an stand-by outside the normal office hours and weekends in case of incidents.
* Standard office hours are to be expected Monday - Friday.
* A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of a positive selection.
