Role Overview: You are a photonics engineer with experience in high-speed optical communication systems? Join us and become part of our photonics development team, belonging to the Keysight Communications Solutions Group. In this position, you will get the opportunity to work in a highly motivated team to develop best in class test systems for the optical telecommunications industry. To be successful in this challenging role, you need to be a pro-active problem solver with a keen interest in measurement science who is comfortable working to tight timescales and able to resolve conflicting priorities and requirements with minimal supervision. Also, you need a solid background in high-speed optical communication systems and their components complemented by a good understanding of electrical and optical measurement techniques and ideally some experience in designing component packages for optical components. Key Responsibilities: Design optical components and sub-systems for optical test and measurement instruments Verify the performance characteristics of optical components, sub-systems, and products using modern measurement techniques and instruments Write test scripts, e.g. using MATLAB or Python, to characterize components, sub-systems, and products Analyze measurement results to prepare project management and product placement decisions Required Qualifications: Master, PhD or equivalent degree in Photonics, Physics or a related discipline Sound knowledge of high-speed optical communication systems complemented by some practical experience Good understanding of electrical and optical measurement techniques Basic programming skills, e.g. in MATLAB or Python Fluent in English, spoken and written (at least level C1 of the CEFR) Desired Qualifications: German language skills (at least level B2 of the CEFR) Experience in designing component packages for optical components Careers Privacy Statement Keysight is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
