We are looking for an experienced Instrument Field Engineer to join our team based in Botlek (Netherlands), Gent (Belgium), or Hattingen (Germany).
As an Instrument Field Engineer, you will:
* Respond to any major occurrence of plant breakdown where control and instrumentation expertise is required, carry out prompt inspection, analyze the fault, repair and re-commission affected plant and equipment to assure the minimum loss of production.
* Support plants with maintenance according to the Plant Maintenance programme, which may include routine maintenance or major overhaul maintenance, including working on maintenance shutdowns.
* Supervise contractors and/or Air Products staff, ensuring that the work is adequately planned and executed safely and effectively.
* Carry out plant modifications according to central design specifications, submit any self-generated design changes to specialist engineers for approval before implementation, and generate scope, cost, and obtain Expenditure Approval for some projects.
* Provide advice and assistance to Plant Managers and their staff on maintenance matters as requested, utilizing the technical resources and expertise of specialist engineers when necessary.
* In association with the Maintenance Systems group, review and update the technical content of preventive maintenance procedures and recommend changes where improvements in safety, quality, or economy may be achieved.
You will have:
* A completion of a Formal Instrumentation Apprenticeship.
* 4+ years post-apprenticeship experience in control and instrumentation systems in the field.
* The ability to read instrumentation drawings, trip panel drawings, logic diagrams and tables, PLC, and DCS configuration.
* The ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written.
* A full driving license and passport.
* The willingness to travel across different countries.
