Senior / Principal Computational Biologist – Data Engineering
Biberach – Hybrid
We are working with a world-renowned pharmaceutical company in Germany who are looking for candidates with a strong, demonstrable experience in data storage for imaging data. Also, with experience integrating imaging data with other forms of multi-omics data, including transcriptomics.
The group you would be working in are responsible for processing data streams and supporting a range of therapeutic areas including neuroscience and mental health. As a part of this group, you will contribute to the creation of maintainable and sustainable data systems and pipelines. Whilst also contributing to designing and implementing the infrastructure to required to generate, process and trace data.
Responsibilities
* You will contribute to the generation and integration of high-quality neuroimaging and omics data.
* You will support neuroimaging data enablement and integration, covering the complete data life cycle from conceptual design to ready to use data that adheres to FAIR principles.
* Standardising data from both internal and external sources
* Take ownership of complex imaging and other omics data process pipelines – leading the way of how to leverage these in drug discovery.
* Enhance the company’s capabilities for modelling, integrating and processing of data
* Drive the implementation of innovative software solutions for downstream data analysis and visualisations.
Requirements
* PhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related field plus several years of relevant experience
* Experience in the neuroimaging field focusing on data storage, handling and processing of imaging data
* Experience with fMRI is a must and experience working with transcriptomics would be highly advantageous
* Strong software engineering skills eg testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery
* Excellent programming skills eg Python, MATLAB
* Strong background in data integration eg semantic data integration, data modelling and data FAIRification
* Excellent communication in English is a must.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in data storage and neuroimaging data to join a well-established group and progress in their career. If you are interested in the position, please apply as we are looking to conduct screening interviews for this position as soon as possible.
