With almost 40 employees, LOWTeq GmbH is one of the leading German manufacturers of Patient Data Management Systems (PDMS) in the German-speaking region for emergency medicine, operative medicine and intensive care medicine. We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team, focusing on providing reliable infrastructure and edge deployments for healthcare facilities such as hospitals. The position is based in Cologne, Germany with the option to work partially remotely. Please note: Candidates must be eligible to work full-time in Germany; we are currently unable to offer visa sponsorship, application assistance or relocation support. Applicants should have at least a solid knowledge of German - preferrably B2 level or above. Tasks As a DevOps Engineer, you will join our team and play an important role in developing our deployment infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include: Setting up, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using Gradle, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and other tools to ensure rapid, high-quality software delivery. Providing in-depth knowledge of Jenkins to improve our current CI/CD pipeline and aiding in a future migration to GitHub Actions. Building monitoring solutions for deployments and ensuring system performance at hospital edge locations. Designing and managing scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure on AWS for our healthcare solutions. Working on a future strategy to deploy to hospital edge locations from the cloud. Collaborating closely with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment processes. Requirements To excel in this role, you should meet the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical team. General strong expertise in DevOps principles and tools. Strong working knowledge of Jenkins and GitHub. Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). At least 3 years of practical programming experience (Python/Java/Bash). Proficiency in Linux with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Understanding of edge computing and deployments in distributed environments like hospitals. Speaking / communicating in German at B2 level. Nice-to-have: Excellent communication skills and a creative mindset. Familiarity with integrating Java testing frameworks. Experience with data pipelines and machine learning workflows. Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence). Background or interest in developing healthcare solutions.
