Several new engineering teams within the area of payments will be created from scratch in our Dreilinden office close to Berlin. We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer - Backend (d/f/m) who will be part of the Seller Capital Team and who can help us build exciting products for our financial services at eBay. You will be working on new experiences for millions of customers, such as supporting our sellers in understanding finances better and enabling seamless business operations. You will lead the development of modern Java/Spring Boot web applications by developing system designs, helping to define the technical roadmap, steering the team on all technical aspects, and implementing code. You will report to a Manager of engineering, as well as work closely with the wider engineering team of the new engineering hub.It’s a unique opportunity to be part of a new team based on a collaborative, transparent and highly technical team culture.What you will accomplishHelp the more junior team members by mentoring and guiding them, drive architectural decisions, align technical decisions with the broader organization, and evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirementsUnderstand requirements of new products and translate these requirements into a scalable software architectureImplement Java/Spring Boot based back-end web servicesAssure delivery of high-quality software by setting up robust CI/CD pipelines, designing and writing tests, contributing to code reviews and code debugging, and by writing documentationOwn major projects and features from design phase to coding, testing, deployment and supportBecome a domain expert of the highly complex ecosystem of payments within eBayWhat you will bringBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar technical degree, with 10 years of experience designing and developing highly scalable web applicationsIn-depth experience in translating requirements into scalable and future-proof software architectures.
