Assure all project‐related work plans and project‐specific documents necessary for performing project QC activities are accurate and available Review subcontractor quality plans for compliance to requirements Inspect work conformance to contract and design documents Understand drawings and specifications Develop daily quality control reports, prepare and issue detailed meeting minutes, and assist with post construction reports Use Submittal Register to track and assure required materials are approved in a timely Manage in‐depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents Proactively initiate deficiencies and non‐conformances documentation, and monitor and verify corrective actions Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality or non‐compliance with design documents Verify materials received are same as those identified in approved submittals and complete material receipt inspection checklists Coordinate, witness, and document 3rd Party testing, special inspections, and commissioning of building systems Document all tests and results Coordinate and document completion inspection process Manage a timely project closeout to include compilation and turnover of all required documents Review MEP documents and equipment pre‐purchases for accuracy and completeness Enforce quality control policies and inspections with the MEP trades Interface with design professionals to address constructability concerns KEY COMPETENCIES Communicate Effectively ‐ Listen to understand and clearly convey information in all forms based on the audience to ensure shared meaning of the message Act Inclusively ‐ Ensure that actions and behaviors are respectful; show empathy and treat others with dignity. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION BS or MS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management, or CMAA Certification DoD construction experience preferred, including firm‐fixed price design‐build construction. Large project experience ($50M to $100M) very helpful. Design‐build experience preferred Large scale ground up hospital experience, preferably with Joint Commission inspections / certification preferred Bilingual in German and English strongly preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong verbal and written skills Skilled using Microsoft Word and Excel; CxAlloy a plus Ability to work in a team environment Ability to collaborate daily with the project team and contractors Able to demonstrate both engineering and field supervision capabilities Must be MEP construction literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction, testing & inspections Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs Must have strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan OSHA 30 hour certified Has in hand or can obtain an active passport and European work visa Ability to learn and utilize conversational German language Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
