At Alpine Eagle, we are a team of machine learning practitioners and robotics engineers, building the first airborne, swarm-based system to provide protection against the rising drone threat. We believe that recent conflicts have shown the malicious and disruptive potential of drones in both civilian and defense scenarios. In addition, we are convinced that the next step in counter-drone is air-to-air. We want to ensure that all governments and institutions that believe in personal freedom and the rule of law have cutting edge solutions to protect against this rising threat.
We offer a work environment that is inclusive and open, with a flat hierarchy, and a purpose-driven team. We want to reinforce a culture where great ideas can flourish, and great people collaborate.
How you will make an impact
You’ll work as part of an experienced and rapidly growing team of software and robotic engineers building a highly innovative unmanned aerial system (UAS) solution. You’ll be able to see immediate results of your work by participating in flight tests and will get to design the next generation of UAVs for our C-UAS solutions.More specifically, you will:
• Develop, build, and evaluate innovative aircraft designs including fixed wing and rotary wing platforms.
• Lead the structural and aerodynamic design of airframes, considering weight, performance, and manufacturability.
• Design and integrate mechanical and electrical systems, including avionic components, motors, sensors, and data links.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to ensure compatibility and system efficiency.
• Plan and conduct ground and flight tests to validate airframe performance and system integration.
Requirements
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or several years of experience in related fields.
• Proven experience in aircraft/UAV design, preferably with PX4-based flight stacks.
• Strong background in structural analysis, aerodynamics and related simulation tools
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and 3D printing.
• Prior experience with avionics integration and wiring of electrical components.
• Building and flying remote controlled aircraft models is a strong plus.
• A hands-on attitude and strong sense of ownership.
• You approach complex problems systematically and document your results.
