Hauptaufgaben Develops plans, specifications, cost estimates upon receipt of project assignment from supervisor. Performs professional engineering work on projects. Conducts site surveys. Takes exact measurements, produces sketches and records field notes to serve as a basis for the preparation of detailed drawings. Prepares survey report with all details of existing conditions and exact description of construction work to be performed. Make recommendations as to best possible solution to meet technical requirements. Upon approval of project prepares specifications; determines quantity and type of material required. Reviews studies, specifications, plans of different projects (Civil Engineering domain) prepared by other sections. Prepares itemized cost estimates on required material and labor, with breakdown into components of project. Derives prices from supplier's catalogues, by contacting various local sources, by studying publications of the construction trade and by observing development and trends on the labor market. Prepares and/or reviews drawings prepared by engineering draftsmen for technical correctness. Prepares engineering computations for projects developed for technical correctness. Incumbent will prepare scope of work for schedule of services, prepare estimate for the design, report on negotiations including necessary documents, obtain necessary approval of A-E contract from Higher Headquarter, supervise and monitor the performance of the A-E contract as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), resolve difficulties concerning criteria, contract procedures, deficiencies, presentation of plans and specifications and any technical provisions which hinder performance of the contract, review or have reviewed submittals, consolidate and reconcile all review comments, accept final plans for US Government, prepare after design memorandum concerning design. Performs other duties as assigned.
