Your role and your team:You will report directly to the Team Leader Energy Testing and work closely with our Component Testing team.
The Component Testing team is responsible for various disciplines involving the testing of components, systems and entire aircraft. It is divided into three departments: Testing, Test Management and Test Operations. Our team performs tests that support certification, development and research in the following technology areas: Propulsion Systems, Batteries, Structures, Environmental Testing and Hardware in the Loop (HIL).You will be the contact person for all battery tests and manage the entire test process from requirements analysis and concept development to test execution and data processing, always keeping the goal of qualification and verification of our aircraft components in mind. You will set up and execute tests of small and large prototypes and provide valuable input to electrical, thermal and mechanical battery engineers as well as production.
Your daily work routine:
1. Working with multi-megawatt battery systems
2. Planning of tests and consultation with stakeholders
3. Planning and setting up laboratories and laboratory equipment
4. Working closely with other integration engineers, especially in battery development
5. Analyzing test data and interpreting the results
6. Planning, setting up and maintaining test rooms and equipment
7. Design and operation of test rigs for testing electrical, electrochemical and electromechanical components, including battery abuse testing
8. Testing components for electrical and thermal performance, mechanical, abuse, crash and environmental behavior
9. Coordinating, preparing and conducting tests of battery cells, modules and packs as well as electrical parts and components according to CS-23, DO-160, DO-311 and other standards, internally and with partners
10. Provide critical feedback to relevant stakeholders (suggestions for design changes, process adjustments, software bug fixes, etc.)
11. Support in production planning and end-of-line test setup
12. Work on ad hoc tasks or projects as assigned by management
13. Working with the BMS system and test bench software
14. Preparation of post-mortem analyses and reports
Ihre Qualifikationen
15. MSc, PhD or equivalent degree in electrical engineering/power engineering/mechatronics or a related field required
16. Strong knowledge of working in electrical laboratories and best testing practices
17. At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with battery systems
18. Knowledge of BMS functions, CAN systems and general test bench software
19. Experience with electrical and battery test equipment such as high voltage supplies and loads, data acquisition systems and battery test systems
20. Experience with battery module and battery system testers (AVL, Kratzer, Basytec or similar)
21. EFK +AuS status/experience (level 3E according to DGUV 209-093) for HV systems or similar practical experience is a plus
22. Knowledge of battery systems, especially Li-ion batteries, is required
23. Experience in the automotive or aerospace industry is a plus
24. High motivation to help shape structures and processes
25. High degree of personal responsibility with the ability to work both in a team and independently
26. Goal-oriented, dedicated work style with analytical problem-solving skills required
27. Fluency in English is essential, fluency in German or another language would be an advantage
