YOUR ROLE:
Together with experienced colleagues, you will push the boundaries of machine learning applications in different industrial verticals beyond state-of-the-art. Our research group explores innovative solutions based on machine learning in a wide area of applications such as mobility, health, or IIoT. While having a lot of freedom in our research projects, we always keep a potential commercialization of the developed products in mind. Your main tasks as Machine Learning Researcher / Engineer are the following:
Tasks
* You will participate in international research and innovation projects that advance the state-of-the-art machine learning applications in different sectors (e.g., IIoT, health, mobility).
* You will be involved in the entire life cycle of the developed products: from research via development to deployment and monitoring.
* You are responsible for the operations and the performances of machine learning applications and ensure their performance.
* You will build partnerships across business units and external partners – corporations, universities, and customers.
* You will be involved in building up a strong publication pipeline and present our research at international conferences.
Requirements
* Work permit for Germany/EU is required!
* PhD or Master in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or other related fields.
* 3+ years of practical experience in the area of Machine Learning.
* You have a proven strong background in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
* You have strong programming skills in one or several of Python, C/C++, and machine learning tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe, …).
* You have excellent English skills; German is a plus.
* You know the principles of OOP and are able to produce clean code; you are familiar with versioning systems (git).
* If you have experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), embedded systems (Internet of Things), operating systems (Linux, …), this would be a plus.
* You have strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, industrial and academic partners, and international research sites.
* You are able to work independently with minimal supervision, and you organize your work effectively and with self-motivation.
