YOUR ROLE Lead advanced simulation projects related to adhesives modeling, with a focus on predicting and simulating nonlinear material behavior, including fracture mechanics, plasticity, viscoelasticity, and viscoplasticity based on their application in EV batteries such as structural integrity, and durability Automate and optimize the creation of material cards using modern methods of machine learning and data-driven modeling techniques Develop and evaluate machine learning methods to predict adhesive behavior, leveraging data to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of simulations Use experimental data to calibrate and validate material models, ensuring that they accurately reflect real-world conditions and provide reliable results Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to refine modeling approaches, ensuring the solutions align with practical requirements and industry standards YOUR SKILLS Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computational Science, Mechanics or similar 3- 5 years of hands-on experience in non-linear material modeling for complex engineering applications, with proven expertise in areas such as fracture mechanics, plasticity, demonstrated through a track record of applying these Experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, data statistics or statistical methods in simulation/engineering Advanced knowledge in programming languages for machine learning (e.g. Python) Software knowledge in standard modeling tools, e.g. ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, ANSYS An innovative spirit, enjoyment of learning and the ability to inspire your customers and colleagues Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with various stakeholders At Henkel, we come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences.
