At Liquid Reply, we’re looking for passionate FinOps Engineers and Consultants who combine technical skills with the FinOps practice to help our clients establish sustainable FinOps governance and automate transparency and optimization activities for a scalable and efficient FinOps practice.
FinOps is the combination of DevOps and Finance. Together with our customers, we implement the FinOps Framework, starting with a central FinOps Team that drives engagement within the client’s organization. Working alongside stakeholders such as DevOps Teams, IT Controlling, and Product Owners, we implement measures to reduce cloud costs and maximize cloud resource usage to enhance the business value of the cloud, measuring success through various metrics.
Tasks
* Actively support FinOps projects with your colleagues to make customers' cloud usage more efficient and sustainable.
* Develop technical solutions for common FinOps challenges (e.g., tagging, cloud service policies).
* Analyze clients' cloud environments to highlight optimization potential for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
* Automate FinOps processes to streamline cloud cost allocation, reporting, and optimization.
* Use your communication skills to interact with stakeholders from platform, product, and application teams.
* Develop FinOps blueprints and share knowledge with colleagues.
* Prepare and execute FinOps trainings, conference talks, and create blog posts.
* Push FinOps topic development within Reply and with the FinOps Foundation.
* Collaborate with us on new opportunities like FinOps for sustainability or Technology Business Management.
Requirements
* Successfully completed university studies in (Business) IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT Management.
* Experience in agile teams and familiarity with agile project management frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
* Strong customer orientation, communication skills, self-initiative, and conflict management abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with flexibility to meet client needs and enjoy challenges in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP; certifications are a plus).
* Curiosity to shape the Cloud FinOps Journey of our customers; a drive to question existing architectures and propose efficiency improvements.
* Familiarity with container-based architecture (from a FinOps cost perspective).
* Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
* Intrinsic motivation to drive sustainable and efficient cloud solutions.
* Current residence in Germany, with eligibility to work within the country.
* Proficiency (min. B2) in English and German with a willingness to travel occasionally.
