As a member of the Advanced R&D Group, you will develop the concepts for next generations of ultrafast DPSS lasers for industrial micro-machining. As a laser expert, you will apply all your knowledge and creativity to provide elegant and effective solutions, pushing the borders for high-performance and highly reliable lasers. Your responsibilities Development of new lasers and improvement of existing products, laser modules and components, and derived products for industrial environments Designing high end laser sources and optics for ultrafast pulses and non-linear optics for frequency conversion from Mid-IR to ultraviolet Planning, implementation and management of projects Creation of / involvement in drafting requirement specifications as well as status, interim and final reports Design, build and testing of development prototypes Definition of metrology equipment specifications for laser characterization, definition and documentation of measurement protocols Design and verification of optics and electronics test jigs Execution and documentation of short and long-term tests Preparation and presentation of development results Working in international teams, communication with partners in US and Asia Support of international customers and suppliers for problem solving Your profile Completed Diploma / Master of Physics; PhD education preferred Very good knowledge in laser technology, hands-on laboratory experience with complex high-power ps or fs laser systems, amplifiers, infrared, visible or ultraviolet lasers Engineering experience with diode-pumped solid-state lasers; Profound understanding of laser measurement and characterization techniques.
