Job Description In this key position, you will mentor and guide engineers, transferring existing designs from MATLAB/Simulink to PSCAD simulation environments across the full delivery lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include plant model design, verification, creating test harnesses, writing model documentation, and evaluating models in PSCAD. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Lead engineering design reviews, identify risks, and propose safe, reliable solutions that meet customer requirements. Dynamic Performance Studies: Conduct DPS and other design studies using offline and online simulation tools. Customer Support: Prepare responses to technical queries, resolve customer issues, and support tendering, operations, contractual obligations, and after-sales activities. Project Planning: Ensure project plans include all necessary activities and studies to deliver compliant technical solutions. Process Improvement: Propose and lead initiatives for continual improvement in processes and designs. Qualifications & Essential Requirements Education: Engineering degree or equivalent with expertise in power systems and power electronics or proven knowledge/experience in the HVDC industry. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of HVDC Control, Protection, Sequencing strategies, and interactions between AC and HVDC systems. Simulation Tools: Proficiency in PSCAD and MATLAB/Simulink simulation tools. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience creating technical reports and presenting solutions to clients. Desired Characteristics Certification or experience in process improvement or Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Previous experience working in the HVDC industry with a focus on innovation and reliability.
