Join us as a (Senior) Embedded Systems Engineer (m/f/d) in our Vehicle Mission team on a shared journey that matters To make the vision of an autonomously driving mobility service a reality the teams in our Vehicle Integration domain develop the applications and tools needed to enable autonomous passenger management within our MOIA vehicles in a world without a driver: How do passengers authenticate themselves in the vehicle without a driver? How to always ensure a safe cabin during boarding and during the ride? Which content should be displayed on the vehicle screens to provide a safe and informative user experience for passengers? As part of the Vehicle Mission team within the Vehicle Integration Domain, you'll work in an agile, cross-functional, and bottom-up environment. The Vehicle Mission team is taking care of synchronizing the planned destinations for a vehicle between our backend and the devices inside our upcoming autonomous vehicle fleet. We are also building and integrating embedded components running inside the vehicle. Those components orchestrate the actions needed inside the vehicle to board the passenger, drive them to their destination, and ensure a safe and smooth ride experience. What you will do Develop algorithms for controlling and monitoring our vehicles Test these algorithms from unit tests up to entire end-to-end tests in the vehicle Plan and document these systems with respect to industry standards for safety, security, and quality management Collaborate with Volkswagen Group, vendors, and other partners to align on software interfaces, tooling, and hardware Support the team with expert knowledge and gui dance in embedde d engineering, mentor colleagues in your field of expertise and provide direction if needed as part of your daily work Shape and contribute to our development processes regarding automotive standards Be part of the full development life cycle, from design to implementation, quality assurance, and maintenance Work in a bottom-up managed, autonomous, cross-functional team together with other talented engineers What will help you to fulfill your role You have solid knowledge of software architecture, implementation, and testing principles You have worked with C++ 11/14 or later, having touched Python or TypeScript ( AWS ) is beneficial You have experience with the Linux platform as both user and developer on multicore ARM-based SoCs and knowledge of Docker You are familiar with some of the utilized communication protocols like MQTT and SOME/ IP You worked in industries with high reliability and quality demands (automotive, medical, aerospace, or similar), for example with ASPICE, ISO26262, homologation You have previously collaborated with external stakeholders (interface alignments, troubleshooting) You like to think analytically and have problem-solving skills as well as the ability to take a “customer” point of view You have a DevOps mindset and are familiar with SiL and HiL testing integrated into CI /CD We encourage you to apply even if your profile does not meet all the requirements for the role since we are looking for a diverse range of experiences, skills, and interests.
