Software Development Engineer, AWS, EC2 Live Migration
Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is a fast-growing business that provides cost-effective, easy-to-use cloud computing resources to businesses worldwide. At the Amazon Development Center in Dresden, Germany, we develop and operate Live Migration technology, enabling seamless migration of EC2 instances between physical hosts to maintain application availability and resilience.
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Development Engineer to join our EC2 Live Migration team. The role involves developing software at the kernel and hypervisor level, working with a team of experienced engineers to build, maintain, and operate server-side technology for Live Migration in EC2.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Design and develop low-level software for Live Migration in EC2 (mainly in C).
2. Write reliable, scalable, and efficient code.
3. Identify, debug, and resolve issues in collaboration with multiple teams.
4. Conduct testing and debugging of software releases.
5. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.
6. Collaborate with other teams for seamless feature integration.
7. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in cloud computing.
Minimum requirements:
* Experience in professional software development.
* Experience with system design, reliability, scaling, and full software development lifecycle.
* Strong programming skills in C and knowledge of computer architecture.
* Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
* Experience in developing code for Linux Kernel and/or hypervisors.
