The tasks and responsibilities of the EPS-SG Engineer mainly in the area of system for LEO missions. The focus for the consultant will be on end-to-end System activities, with emphasis on Satellite and Operational related aspects. Specifically, the following tasks will be required from the key-person: Provide input and support to the customisation of the ECSS standards covering the end-to-end system and operations. Provide input and support to the review and consolidation of ICDs including the PUS-related Space to Ground ICDs Contribute to maintaining the documentation of the System level design, specifications and interfaces including M&C aspects Support to analysis and trade off activities Contribute as Ops prep engineer to the Project Teams for LEO Mission System reviews and provide support to Space and Ground Segments level reviews as requested Requirements: In addition to having a University degree (or equivalent in experience) in a relevant discipline (engineering or science), the candidate shall have the following experience: At least 3 years of experience in the field of system engineering of Space and Ground Segments, in particular in the area of monitoring and control (M&C) of polar LEO satellites. Proven experience in requirements-based design and development process following the ECSS standards and using DOORS. Experience with the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard (PUS), customisation and usage Experience in Satellite operations or operations preparation would be considered an additional asset. This role requires relocation to Darmstadt and offers a relocation package.
