The role
As a Project Engineer (PE), you will be responsible for providing engineering services to customize UAI products and common components to meet customer needs, including sensor setups and data management. You should be proficient in handling large datasets using Python. In this role, you will develop expertise in various sensor configurations for vehicle automation projects, focusing on calibration and data quality enhancement activities.
Your tasks
* As a member of a cross-functional team, you help kick-start our annotation projects and provide the results back to our customers.
* Responsible for the end-to-end integration of customer data and improve our ETL (extract-transform-load) tools.
* Implement importers and exporters, e.g. to support specific 3D point cloud formats.
* Strive to automate all recurring aspects of your work.
* Solve 3D mathematical problems in code.
* Troubleshoot technical issues in our tool chain.
What will you need to be successful?
* University degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or a proven track record as a Software Engineer.
* At least 5 years of full-time experience in the industry, ideally in a customer-facing position.
* Have substantial experience in data transformations, both in common data structures (hash maps etc.) and formats (JSON etc.). Experience in handling image and point cloud data and other sensor data and experience in handling the various formats for such data (PCD, Rosbag files etc.) is a plus.
* Familiar with linear algebra concepts like vectors, matrices & transformations and have the problem solving and coding skills to tackle mathematical problems related to 2D and 3D geometry in code.
* Have several years of Python programming experience, including working with libraries like NumPy, Pandas etc. Experience with OpenCV and similar libraries is a plus.
* Passionate about Clean Code Principles to produce high quality code.
* Work in a self-dependent way with a strong focus on quality.
* Be a strong communicator and active seek for information when needed.
* Domain knowledge on ADAS/AD, ML/AI and Labeling is a plus.
