About the job:
Kent is recruiting for a Senior Contracts Engineer (PMC). You will be an integrated part of the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team managing projects on behalf of Kent and our Client. You will be required to support all phases of the projects to suit the needs and requirements of Kent as well as our Client.
Skills & Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities:
* Assist and contribute to the project to meet its safety targets and advise on safety improvements.
* Assist the team leader and be a team player, collaborate, and add value to the assigned project.
* Coordinate/Communicate with all disciplines, Contractor, and Client.
* Assist and support project leads, managers, and directors to manage all aspects of projects from early stage to implementation and handover.
* Review Contractor’s deliverables as required and ensure all Contractor’s activities performed meets contractual obligations, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
* Ensure all Contractor’s work and activities in own engineering field are safe and carried out in a safe manner.
* Ensure all Contractor’s work in own engineering field conforms to the codes and standards used by the Client or to agreed industry standards.
* Perform activities, and produce deliverables in your own engineering field as part of the team.
* Coordinate with the project team internally and in other functions as well as with clients, to develop/finalize specifications in own engineering field.
* Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.
* Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions in conjunction with the lead engineers in own engineering field.
* Assist in developing junior personnel within the team.
* Provide support during field activities relevant to own discipline.
* Identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal / contract.
* Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in own engineering field.
* Liaise with other engineers/technicians in own engineering field to ensure updates to relevant standards are maintained and disseminated to the team.
* Monitor and report professional man hours to the lead engineers in own engineering field.
* Manage own budgets and project resources in conjunction with the lead engineers in own engineering field.
* Adhere to best practices, standards, and procedures.
* Knowledgeable in carrying out some types of activities in relevant key discipline.
* Knowledgeable in the use of computer software in relevant key discipline.
* Experienced in performing adequacy check of relevant key discipline activities.
* Review general arrangement, Layout…etc., based on project requirements.
* Produce and review reports, designs, specifications, and contract documents relevant to own discipline.
* Review deliverables produced in relevant key discipline and verify compliance to Company standards.
* Review vendor information relevant to key discipline.
* Provide expertise to queries from construction team, as applicable and relevant to own discipline.
* Collaborate with field teams, sub-contractors, architects and outside project developers and consultants.
* Perform fieldwork as applicable and relevant to own discipline.
* Schedule material purchases and deliveries relevant to own discipline in conjunction with the lead engineers.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Administer and monitor project contracts.
* Analyse and interpret contract terms and conditions.
* Identify and address contract issues and disputes.
* Liaise with legal and procurement departments.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Qualification/Certification:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering
* At least 3 years in similar positions for an international company
Skills Requirement:

* Work in office and Site based environments
* Capable of using the appropriate software

* Able to effectively communicate technical issues to peers and line manager (written and verbal).
