Our "Professional Service Robots - outdoor" group develops mobile outdoor robots for agriculture and logistics processes that are used in various (industrial) environments. One development focus is on robot cognition, for example to navigate in complex environments and reliably carry out complex processes.
As a software engineer in our group, you will make a valuable contribution to further expanding and professionalizing our CURT ecosystem. CURT consists of several robots, wheel- and track-based, as well as the autonomous navigation navCURT. In addition to supporting the development of navigation algorithms, such as path planners or SLAM algorithms, your role is to ensure the reliability and performance of our robots by setting up continuous integration, comprehensive unit and system tests and automated simulations. You will also be responsible for continuously developing the software architecture and providing documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
What you will do

* Development and execution of code tests (unit tests, integration tests)
* Carrying out simulations to check and optimize the robot functions

* Design and further development of the software architecture

What you bring to the table
* Master-Degree in a typical MINT-Study with very good grades
* Excellent knowledge of software development and architecture
* Experience with continuous integration (CI) and various test methods
* Ability to create and interpret simulations
* Strong programming skills in C++ or Python
* Experience in working with Linux environments
* Enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and developed communicational skills
* Experience with ROS1/ROS2 is a plus
