In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Administrative Assistant
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Mine Maintenance Administrative Clerk to join our team at our GMining Ventures Oko West mine site location. This role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Mine Maintenance on-site and ensuring efficient office operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Record Keeping & Documentation:
o Maintain accurate and organized records of maintenance activities, work orders, equipment, and parts inventories.
o Ensure proper filing and storage of maintenance logs, safety reports, inspection records, and related documents.
o Prepare and compile reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels.
2. Work Order Management:
o Assist in generating, tracking, and closing work orders for maintenance tasks.
o Coordinate with maintenance technicians to ensure that work orders are completed on time and correctly documented.
o Monitor the status of pending work orders and follow up to ensure timely completion.
3. Inventory & Materials Management:
o Track the inventory of parts, tools, and equipment used in maintenance activities.
o Assist with ordering and purchasing maintenance supplies, ensuring materials are available when needed.
o Work with the procurement team to manage supplier relationships and ensure the timely delivery of materials.
4. Scheduling and Coordination:
o Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance activities and unscheduled repairs in collaboration with the maintenance team.
o Coordinate with other departments to minimize operational downtime due to maintenance.
o Assist with scheduling technicians, ensuring adequate staffing during maintenance projects.
5. Data Entry and Reporting:
o Enter maintenance data into computer systems and databases accurately and in a timely manner.
o Prepare routine and special reports, such as maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and performance metrics.
o Support the department in preparing budgets, forecasts, and other financial documents.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
o Assist with maintaining a clean and safe work environment for the maintenance team.
o Support safety audits and inspections, ensuring that records are up to date and any issues are addressed.
7. Communication and Support:
o Act as a liaison between the maintenance team and other departments.
o Respond to internal and external queries regarding maintenance activities and schedules.
o Provide general administrative support to the maintenance supervisor/manager as needed.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
* Minimum a Diploma or relevant certifications in administration preferred.
* At least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
* Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

* Work Schedule – 14 days on 7 days Off.
