Come and do your life’s work - Why we do what we do Phlair unleashes CO2's potential through breakthrough innovation. We rapidly deploy Direct Air Capture technology, facilitating the removal and reuse of CO2 at scale. For decades, fossil fuels served as the backbone and feedstock of our economy – with the downside of polluting our atmosphere. We invert this equation by developing a cost-efficient and scalable electrochemical Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. We have cracked the nut here by developing a breakthrough hydrolizer for acid/base regeneration, allowing us to capture CO2 from ambient air for either permanent storage or as a precursor for CO2-negative chemicals. For this, we collaborate with leading customers like Frontier Climate, Stripe, Shopify and Klarna. We are looking for highly ambitious and motivated individuals who are ready to work their a off to have a lasting impact on the planet. Your ideas will set the foundation and shape the future of our company. At Phlair we're committed to create a high-performing and inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued: You can find more on our culture here. Join our team of world-class scientists, engineers and passionate entrepreneurs. All qualified applicants are given fair consideration and women are strongly encouraged to apply - Come as you are Your mission at Phlair Together with our CSO Steffen, you will be leading the improvement of our electrochemical cell. You'll take ownership of our product and actively shape our company with us Set up and improve electrochemical testing operation procedures Design and improvement of electrochemical test benches Test cell designs and provide feedback to the design team Play a major role in upscaling our system Drive for new innovative solutions, new patent filings, and improvements to the system Nothing is set in stone at this point. We have identified and patented a very energy-efficient electrochemical process for CO2 capture. We do not have strong opinions regarding the implementation, so you would be able to lead your initiatives. What you’ll need Hard skills that are necessary You have a Ph.D. in electrochemistry with a focus on water electrolysis, hydrogen fuel cells, or redox flow batteries and a profound understanding of electrochemistry You have already built up an electrochemical test bench and are familiar with electrochemical test stations You have experience with LabView and/or Python and like to automize test procedures You are a hands-on person and like to spend time in the lab Soft skills that are necessary You like to work independently, think entrepreneurial and are excited to make decisions You love to build something and transform research into a working product You are an accurate problem solver, reliant, resilient, and work precisely Great to have, but optional Previous experience in carbon removal technologies Vast knowledge of different electrochemical technologies What we offer you Attractive compensation package, including stock options in the company Minimum of 30 days of vacation per year, which includes 2 days of recreational leave Financial support with your move to Munich Free public transportation ticket for all of Germany A fitness subscription to EGYM Wellpass, so you can clear your head in your time out of the office Free team lunch every Thursday with our amazing chef Here is our website, we recommend you check the career page A great read are also the TechCrunch article on our technology and a piece by our lead investor Extantia on the future of DAC. We are the first EU and German DAC company to be selected by Frontier Climate. Frontier is a buyers' club for high quality carbon removal credits, i.e. a certificate validating the permanent (for >1,000 years) and additional (to natural processes) removal of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, thereby curbing global warming. Benefit and grow from our network: You will have access to an extensive group of leaders. We can provide 1-to-1 mentoring with investors, engineering advisors or our business angels from startups, consulting and industry.
