Stellenbeschreibung For our client we are looking for a Virtualization Engineer (f/m/d). Start: 17.03.2025 Duration: 30.06.25 (long term engagement (2026)) Capacity: 100% if possible Location: 75% Remote, 25% Berlin (1 week Berlin / 3 weeks remote in rotation), up to 50% onsite in peak times Role: - The virtualization engineer is member of the group of compute and storage engineers within the infrastructure sub-product line (covering datacenter, network, compute and storage). - The engineers of the infrastructure sub-product line build the compute and storage environment as designed by the lead architect and core infra architect. - Within the product line, engineering will be continuously automated. The goal is to establish a fully automated environment where all steps after physical installation will be automated. - As the entire project is following an agile framework, they have the technical knowledge to translate the requirements given into the necessary implementation steps and document them in user stories in the agile framework. - Within this step the dependencies will be defined and the effort to build the designed functionality will be estimated. After this preparation step, the implementation will be done, tested as defined and documented according to the project standards. - Following the defined processes, the engineer will hand over the infrastructure into operation. Profile Requirements: - The individual must have at least 5 recent years working as virtualization engineer. Knowing the entire life cycle of on-premise installation, operation, backup, recovery and de-commissioning. - The individual should be able to clearly communicate with peers and architects about the ideas, the designs, and document in a professional readable manner including diagrams. - Problem analysis and resolution competencies covering the dependencies to layers above and below the operating system. - Base knowledge about network and routing enabling communication with the network team.
